Nader Bou Antoun and Jean Paul Bou Antoun got involved in the restaurant business in the early 70′s in Lebanon. Jean Paul, as the head chef, managed the culinary department and Nader managed the restaurant.
Owing to the great popularity of their Lebanese restaurant, the two brothers decided in 1980 to open a restaurant in Paris and it had a seating capacity of 30 people. Five years later, they moved to new premises with a seating capacity of 110 and in the same year the brothers opened “Traiteur/Brasserie Noura”.
This was to be the beginning of the rise of the famous chain “Noura”, a name synonymous with style, quality, service, design and elegance. The success of the “Traiteur/Brasserie Noura” led to the opening of three other establishments all with seating capacity of 100 people and all in prestigious locations (Pavillon Noura, 21 Avenue Marceau, 75116 Paris; Noura Brasserie, 29 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris, which can contain up to 210 people in the summer including outdoor seating, Noura Restaurant, 121 Boulevard Montparnasse, 75006 Paris, on two levels with a large dining patio) and new opening of 29 Boulevard des Italiens 75002.
The Noura restaurants received a lot of press coverage in many famous newspapers and magazines including Air France’s In-Flight magazine. Noura also received several awards for the quality of its food and service, having been accredited with, amongst others, the Medaille d’Or in 1994 and a Michelin award in 1993, and they have been regularly accredited in the annual Michelin Guide with three culinary forks.
In 1999, Mr. Nader Bou Antoun decided to move to London and has chosen two locations: one in Hobart Place, Belgravia, for a restaurant/Brasserie and one in William Street, Knightsbridge, for a delicatessen/patisserie. He has overseen every detail in Noura’s new venture in order to ensure the standards of quality and service established in Paris are maintained.
2000 AND BEYOND
In 2003, Noura opened a new restaurant, cafe and take-away in Curzon Street, Mayfair and in 2004 they opened their newest restaurant, Noura Central, in Piccadilly which was awarded Mood Food Restaurant of the Year at the BIBA (Best In Britain Awards) in June 2005. Noura London was also awarded the prestigious Golden 5 Continents Award for Quality & Excellence, and the Top Quality Customer Satisfaction Aptitude Seal in July 2005.
